Greetings Area 31!

My name is Chip K. and I serve as your Panel 60 Delegate to the General Service Conference of

Alcoholics Anonymous. It’s truly an honor and a privilege to serve you,

the membership of Western Massachusetts, in that capacity.

Western Massachusetts Intergroup has generously provided me a link on their web page which will allow me to periodically post items of interest regarding AA as a whole, and Area 31 specifically.

I hope you find the information relevant and useful. Thank you!

Hi everyone,

The 75th Anniversary of Alcoholics Anonymous was celebrated July 1-4 at the International Convention; what an amazing experience! As of Saturday at noon, there were approximately 54,000 registered, and the on-site registration site was 3 deep all afternoon. It wouldn’t surprise me if it hit 60,000!

Everywhere you looked, there were smiling folks with name tags around there necks. The only way I can describe it is “spontaneous fellowship” everywhere you went. There was a great turnout of folks from Massachusetts, West and East.

For those that were unable to make this one, the next one is in Atlanta, GA in 2015. Airfare should be considerably less expensive.

Greetings!
To keep you, the Area 31 membership, as informed as possible, I've uploaded the 3 major reports presented to us at the General service Conference. The first report is from John K. Chair of AA World Services; the Second is from Ward Ewing, Non-Alcoholic Trustee and Chairman of the General Service Board, and the last is from Dorothy H. out-going Director of the AA Grapevine. The information in these reports will give you a pretty accurate picture of what's going on in Alcoholics Anonymous. From what I've seen, we're in good hands. The love for AA and the incredible devotion to service demonstrated by those at the General Service Office, on the General Service Board, and at the Grapevine is a Power of Example for all of us!
Stay tuned...I'll continue to post info as I receive it.

Hello Everyone:

After a long development program, the General Service Office has developed a secure, web-based application that allows AA Members and Groups to make contributions to GSO on-line. It's accessible through the aa.org website, or you can use this link;

 I've also included a detailed guideline explaining the program, as well as step by step instructions on how to establish an account.
This is not meant to replace the "basket" but it does provide another avenue to make contributions to the General Service Office. I would welcome any comments or opinions from the Area membership; send them to chip.area31@yahoo.com
Please remember that our local AA services are not supported through this avenue.

If you choose, you may also support your local AA Service committees also - information on how your local AA services work for you are found on this website.  Donation information on the Area 31 Pie Chart is located on this site under All About Intergroup on the menu tab or CLICK HERE.
